About
Abdallah El Ghaly received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power and Control Engineering, M.S.E. degree, and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Power and Machines Engineering from Beirut Arab University (BAU), Beirut, Lebanon, in 2013, 2016, and 2022, respectively. In 2013, he received the Jamal Abdel Nasser Award in recognition of his outstanding academic achievement.
From 2013 to 2019, Dr. El Ghaly worked as a senior electrical design engineer, contributing to the design of commercial, industrial, and residential projects worldwide, particularly in the Gulf region. He began his academic career at Beirut Arab University in 2019 as a full-time lecturer. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Power and Machines Program, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. Since September 2025, he has also served as Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
Dr. El Ghaly serves as Secretary of the IEEE Lebanon Joint Chapter IE13/PE31/CAS04/PEL35. He is a member of the Order of Engineers and Architects in Beirut (OEA), IEEE, and the IEEE Power & Energy Society. He also serves as a reviewer for several international journals, including IEEE Access, Scientific Reports, Results in Engineering, Computers & Electrical Engineering, E-Prime, the International Journal of Renewable Energy Research, the International Journal of Smart Grid, and the Journal of Renewable Energy and Environment.
His research interests include power quality, active power filters, power electronics, renewable energy systems, electrical power systems, and machine-learning applications in power-system fault diagnosis.
